Meet The Team
Creator, Director and Actor
Ervin Musabelliu
After earning six awards and four nominations from his recent indie film “The Dark Web”, Ervin is diving deep into his boldest challenge yet: a narrative about Alexander the Great. This isn't a fleeting fascination; for over four plus years, Ervin has been steeped in the labyrinthine world of Alexander, not only spinning the tale but strapping on the sandals to play the man himself. Born and bred in Albania until his tenth year, he's not just portraying a legend; he's channeling an ancestor. It's more than a project; it's in his DNA. From dedicating a year to shape his body into a warrior's form, to endless hours of horseback riding, perfecting swordplay and challenging himself with a 50-mile solo run in snowy Minnesota, Ervin isn't just working on this project; he's living it, heart and soul.
Master Horse Trainer & Lead Wrangler:
Ty Nittie
With over 30 years as a skilled horse trainer and a wealth of film wrangler credentials, Ty's knowledge of horses is both profound and unparalleled. But what truly sets Ty apart is his contagious passion and unique ability to guide and mentor. When he joined the project a year ago, he wasn't just taking on a job; he was accepting a herculean challenge: to transform novice actors into convincing ancient cavalry riders, skillfully wielding spears while riding bareback at full speed. It's this blend of expertise and dedication that makes Ty not just an asset, but an invaluable pillar to any project he touches.
Director of Photography
Amza Moglan
With over a decade of cinematic expertise ranging from Indie Films to high-profile projects like "There Will Be Blood" alongside Daniel Day Lewis, Amza Moglan is a virtuoso in the realm of cinematography. His intricate knowledge of cameras, combined with an artist's eye for capturing the perfect shot, renders him an invaluable asset to the cinematographic team. Having been part of the project from its early days, Amza's unique vision and technical prowess have played an essential role in ensuring every frame resonates with intent and artistry.
Linguistic Experts
Brian D. Joseph with Lindon Dedvukaj and Clayton Marr
After graduating from Harvard in 1978 with his PhD in Lingusitics, Brian D Joseph has been a Distinguished University Professor of Linguistics at Ohio State University for over 30 years! Brian’s area of expertise is quite broad, but he is focused first and foremost on the study of language change, especially in regard to the Greek language throughout all of its historical phases, from Mycenaean up through Modern Greek, including its prehistory and how it fits into the Indo-European language family and also its more recent significant contact with its neighboring languages in the Balkans. Simply put, when it comes to recreating Ancient Macedonian language, there is no one better and more qualified than Brian D Joseph. Brian along with his top two students Lindon and Clayton joined us a year ago and have helped us recreate the ancient extinct language!
Historian
John Maxwell O’Brien
While unfortunately no longer with us (1939-2022), John Maxwell O’Brien was Ervin’s active historian and consultant for over one year! John was an emeritus professor of history at Queens College, City University of New York. He has written prolifically on the ancient and medieval worlds and the history of alcoholism but it was his work and decades of research he spent on Alexander that really set him apart. His best-selling biography Alexander the Great: The Invisible Enemy has been translated into Greek and Italian, and he authored the article on alcoholism in the Oxford Classical Dictionary. John was more than a historian, he was a mentor and friend. He was wise and always knew just what to say and how to say it. His contribution and passion toward this project will never be forgotten, that is why we are dedicating this proof of concept in John’s honor!
